The Planet Fitness in Waukegan, Illinois recently hosted their Second Annual Holiday Food Drive. Gym members and employees, alike, were encouraged to participate and help provide holiday meals to their neighbors in need.
Between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, 184 lbs. of food were donated, which translates to 150 meals! That topped their total from 2017, when they collected 140 lbs. of non-perishables.
Our friends from Shur-Way Moving & Cartage, a National Van Lines agent, delivered the food to the Northern Illinois Food Bank's Northern Suburban Center.
More than 307,000 people in northern Illinois are food insecure. Thank you to Planet Fitness, Shur-Way Moving & Cartage, and National Van Lines for embracing the season of giving!
