Windsor Village at Waltham Collects 1,000+ LBS. of Food!

February 8, 2019

In December, Windsor Village at Waltham, a member of our Multi-Family Apartment Community program, held a Season of Giving food drive to fight hunger in Boston during the holidays.

More than 463,000 people in the greater Boston area are food insecure, including 1 in 9 children. Faced with those shocking statistics, Windsor Village at Waltham decided that they needed to do something to help. So, from December 5-21, the staff and residents were encouraged to donate instant potatoes, canned vegetables, gravy, cake mix, pie filling, hot chocolate, and other non-perishable items to help provide holiday meals for their neighbors in need. More than 1,000 lbs. of food was donated in total, which is enough to provide 970 meals!

Our partners from CORT volunteered to pick up all of the donations and delivered them to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Thank you to the Windsor Village at Waltham and to our friends from CORT for helping to spread some joy during the holiday season!

Hunger is a year-round problem. Let's work together to hold a food drive in your hometown!
