Urban Coalhouse Raises $1,130 to Support Move For Hunger

February 21, 2020

Urban CoalHouse Pizza and Bar recently held a Pizza Eating Competition fundraiser to help support our mission to reduce food waste and fight hunger!

047.JPGThe first round of the contest took place on November 21 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at the Urban CoalHouse restaurants in Brick, Red Bank, and Hoboken, NJ. Each of the 5 male and 5 female participants at each location had 5 minutes to eat as many slices of pizza they could from a large plain pie. All 3 locations selected a male and female winner to move onto the finals.

The finals took place on January 23 in Red Bank, where winners Julia and Craig both received a free bike and year's worth of pizza! We owe a special thanks to Craig, who offered to donate his pizza winnings to Move For Hunger. Urban CoalHouse obliged, and provided us with $885 in gift cards, which we will use as incentives for future fundraisers!

Thank you Urban CoalHouse Pizza and Bar and to all the participants for raising $1,130 overall, which will allow us to provide 2,750 additional meals this year!
