Earlier this year, U.S. Storage Centers, one of the leaders in the self-storage industry, became an official partner and pledged to support our mission to reduce food waste and fight hunger. This summer, they decided to step up their commitment by hosting Shark Week food drives at three of their locations in Miami!
From July 22-29, employees, customers, and members of the local community were encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food to any of the participating locations, especially canned tuna. Why tuna? Because sharks love it, and so do kids! This superfood is packed with protein and is a great source of iron and potassium. It’s also one of the most requested food items at food pantries around the country.
