The Waypointe Apartments Hosted a PB&J Food Drive

September 6, 2019

The Waypointe, an apartment in Norwalk, CT and a member of our Multi-Family Program, spread some love in their community by hosting a peanut butter & jelly food drive in August.

Peanut butter is one of the most frequently requested items by food banks because it is kid-friendly and protein-rich. The Waypointe asked residents to come together to donate peanut butter and jelly to help provide lunches for children in their community.

The residents and staff donated a total of 85 pounds of food, which will provide 70 meals for local children facing hunger. Our partners at CORT of Conneticut volunteered their time to pick up and deliver all of the donations to The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.

More than 406,000 people in Connecticut are struggling with hunger, including 1 in 6 children. Thank you to everyone at The Waypointe and CORT for putting the kids first this school year.
