Charitable Remainder Trust

Make a charitable remainder trust part of your legacy with Move For Hunger, Inc. Designate a portion of a trust to Move For Hunger, Inc. by transferring assets through a charitable remainder trust (CRT), and you or a beneficiary earn income.
CRTs allow you to transfer assets irrevocably, and you and your beneficiaries receive payments from the trust for life or another period of your choice. The remainder of the trust then goes to a charity like Move For Hunger, Inc.

There are two types of CRTs:

  • A charitable remainder annuity trust (CRAT) pays a fixed dollar amount to income beneficiaries for life or a term of years, regardless of market conditions. The CRAT cannot accept additional gifts after it has been established.
  • A charitable remainder unitrust (CRUT) pays the income beneficiaries a fixed percentage rate for life or a term of years. The annual income amount is based on the current value of the trust's assets so that the payout will increase or decrease based on changes in the trust's value.

Your estate may be entitled to a charitable contribution deduction equal to the excess of the entire CRT asset’s value over the noncharitable beneficiary’s right to receive the income.

Ask your legal or financial planner how you can use your Charitable Remainder Trust to make an impact today!
