Slidell Moving & Storage celebrated Mardi Gras by hosting a specially-themed red rice and beans food drive in their community from February 16-March 5.
Not only are rice and beans staple ingredients of the classic New Orleans dish, but they are also some of the most highly-requested items by food banks because they are delicious sources of protein and fiber.
Slidell Moving & Storage collected a total of 1,200 lbs. of food, which will provide 1,000 meals for those in need! All of the donations were delivered to the First Baptist Church-Slidell Food Pantry.
