Bedford, TX – SML Relocation has partnered with Move For Hunger, a national non-profit organization, to help provide much-needed assistance to food banks nationwide.
People throw away a lot of things when they move, including perfectly good food. As a proud partner, SML Relocation will support Move For Hunger’s efforts to reduce food waste and fight hunger. To date, the non-profit’s network of relocation professionals has collected and delivered 11.4 million pounds of food – providing more than 9 million meals – to food banks and pantries across the United States and Canada.
“Forty-percent of the food produced in the United States every year is wasted. Meanwhile, 41 million Americans do not know where their next meal will come from,” explains Adam Lowy, Executive Director and Founder of Move For Hunger. “Our partnership with SML Relocation will provide us with the support we need to continue feeding millions of Americans.”
“SML is proud to support this organization in its mission to fight hunger and reduce food waste,” says Josh Barnes, vice president of SML Relocation. “Every day across the country millions of individuals are food insecure; our partnership with Move For Hunger provides the most logical way for SML to positively affect real and meaningful change in people’s lives.”
With one in eight Americans affected by food insecurity, including nearly 13 million children, it has never been more important to come together to help our neighbors in need. Through the support of partners like SML Relocation, Move For Hunger can continue to help the more than 41 million Americans struggling to find their next meal.
