5 Things You Might Have Overlooked«« Move For Hunger Resources March 31, 2017 | 10:35 am |
Moving is a stressful time for everyone involved. You may think you’ve got everything, and that you’re ready to go, but there are things you may have overlooked. Here are 5 ways to make the move a little bit easier.
Take a picture of your electronics:
Hookups such as TVs and DVD players could be a pain to set up if you aren’t technologically savvy. By taking a photo of the hookup, you can just put the wires right back where they were because you’ve got a picture to help you.
Load boxes into the moving truck that are from the same room:
You may be tempted to put all of the boxes in your living room and just load them in without thinking, but if you keep everything from the same room together, it will be much easier when unloading and unpacking.
Take pictures of your new place before you move in:
This is more important if you’re renting a place, but you should take photos to record any existing damage and to make sure you leave it exactly as you received it. Doesn’t everyone want that security deposit back?
Make your bed:
Instead of crashing on the couch that was thrown in your living room for the first night, if you make your bed right away you can have a place to sleep when you get tired from your big day. Make the first night in your new place a good one.
Cut handles into boxes:
At some point in our lives, we’ve all had to carry those big, bulky boxes that are hard to handle. If you cut into the sides of your boxes with a knife, you can make your own handles and make the boxes easier to carry.
