JROTC Cadets Collect 400 LBS. of Food

March 19, 2018

The goal of the Bearcats Battalion, the JROTC at Brookland-Cayce (SC) High School, is to inspire the youth to become better citizens of their local community. What better way to achieve this than by organizing a food drive?

From December 4-15, the cadets asked their fellow students, faculty, and neighbors to donate non-perishable canned goods to help support the effort. Together, they donated 400 lbs. of food - which should provide about 330 meals!

Lange Moving Systems partnered with the Bearcats Battalion on the event. The moving company provided collection boxes and volunteered to deliver all of the donations Harvest Hope Food Bank in Columbia.

Nearly 750,000 people in South Carolina face hunger each day, including 1 in 6 children! Thank you to the cadets of the Bearcats Battalion, the Brookland-Cayce High School community, and Lange Moving Systems for working together to make a difference!

Want to hold a food drive? Let’s get started!
