How the program works

People throw away a lot of things when they move, including perfectly good food. With 44 million Americans facing hunger each day, including 1 in 5 children, there's no reason any food should go to waste. Move For Hunger is teaming up with the multi-family industry to make sure every resident has the opportunity to donate their food when they move.

When a resident gives notice that they are moving out, please provide them with the program letter and a food collection bag.

Encourage them to place any unopened, non-perishable food items that they are not taking with them and wish to donate in the bag.

When you've collected a few bags, let us know! We will arrange for a partner to pick up the donations and deliver them to your local food bank.
