H.B. Fuller Collects 300 LBS. of Non-Perishables During Month-Long Food Drive

November 14, 2017

H.B. Fuller, a leading global adhesives company, hosted a food drive at their office in Edison, NJ from October 2-31. Employees and members of the local community were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, such as rice, pasta, peanut butter, canned tuna, cereal, and canned fruits/vegetables, to help provide meals for their neighbors in need.

Although this was H.B. Fuller's first food drive, they were able to collect more than 320 lbs. of food, which will provide 260 mealsParamount Transportation Systems volunteered to pick up and deliver all of the donations to Hands of Hope Food Pantry at the conclusion of the event.

"I must admit, I am impressed with the result," said John Bevacqua, H.B. Fuller's Warehouse Manager. "Not only did we fill the seven boxes provided by Paramount Movers, we had several additional cases donated by our business partners at Select Enterprises. "

According to Jackie Godesky, President of the Hands of Hope Food Pantry, the donation could not have come at a better time.

"Twenty-five years ago, when we opened the food pantry, we served 10-15 families a month," she said. "Today we are serving 400-500 families a month.  Those numbers will increase dramatically during the months of November and December. Because people like you all are so supportive, we are able to serve the needs of our community."

In addition to the non-perishable food, H.B. Fuller also made a $500 donation to Move For Hunger and the Hands of Hope Pantry.

"This was truly a rewarding endeavor," said Bevacqua.
