For the fourth consecutive year, Helga Drabin of Coconut Creek, Florida hosted a food drive on her birthday. Instead of gifts, Helga asks her guests to bring non-perishable food items.

Last year, she and her friends were able to collect nearly 1,000 pounds of food. And for Ms. Drabin’s 90th birthday, they surpassed by collecting a whopping 1,250 pounds of food. That equates to 1040 meals for her neighbors in need! Ms. Drabin and her friends have now collected a grand total of 2,450 pounds of food since 2013 – that’s over 2,000 meals!

Beltmann Relocation Group of Pompano Beach assisted with the food drive by having one of their trucks parked outside the clubhouse where the birthday party was being held. Beltmann’s crew then packed-up and delivered all of the donations to Boca Helping Hands food bank.BeltmannRelocationGroup_logo

There are over 3.2 million people in Florida who face hunger each day, including 1 in 4 children. Thank you to Ms. Drabin and Beltmann Relocation Group for your dedication to your community. You are proof that it’s possible for a small group of people to make a big difference!
