Back in the City of Brotherly Love, Team Move For Hunger is ready to run, walk and move away hunger and food waste at the Philadelphia Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 8K! Since its’ inception in 1994, this race has grown to become of the 10 largest marathons in the country, making it one of the nation’s best. With a flat and fun course, this race is perfect for those looking to PR or just enjoy a scenic trip through historic Philadelphia. Beginning and ending at the iconic Eakins Oval, the course offers some amazing scenery including the Art Museum, Liberty Bell and the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers.
In the state of Pennsylvania, over 1.6 million residents need help putting food on the table, with over 17% of those in need being children. At the same time, 40% of food produced in the United States ends up in a landfill. You can help make sure this much needed food ends up in the hands of those who need it most, not thrown away with the trash. By fundraising with Team Move For Hunger, your donations enable us to continue our life saving services of supporting our nations’ food banks and reducing food waste.
HOW DOES THE TEAM WORK?
Great question! All you need to do is fill out our online registration form and our Team Captain Emily will send over some fundraising and training tips, along with a link to your personal fundraising page on Crowdrise. Upload your personal picture and information and you’re ready to go! Gather donations from friends, family, coworkers and anyone who wants to help us fight hunger in America. You’ll receive bi-monthly newsletters filled with great information to help you cross the finish line, all while your fundraising donations enable us to continue our life saving services. Once you’ve raised $500, we will register you with the race, getting your free registration along with a stylish Team Move For Hunger technical tee or tank top (your choice). If you raise more, the incentives just get better! It’s a fun, easy and effective way to help fight hunger, just by turning your miles into meals.
