Country Village Apartment Homes Holds Season of Giving Food Drive

Country Village Apartment Homes in Dover, Delaware held a food drive throughout the month of December in honor of the season of giving. The staff and residents donated 40 lbs. of food, which will provides 33 meals to their neighbors in need! Bayshore Moving & Storage, an Allied Van Lines agent, volunteered to take the donations to their local food bank.

Country Village Apartment Homes was one of the very first properties to join our Multi-Family Program. People throw away a lot of things when they move, including perfectly good food! We’re now partnering with more than 700 multi-family locations all over the country to make sure this food does not go to waste.

When a resident gives notice that they will be moving out, the property managers provide them with a program letter and a food collection bag. They are encouraged to donate any non-perishable food items that they will not be taking.

Once a property has collected a few bags, they contact us, and we connect them with a local transportation partner who will pick up the donations and deliver them to a local food bank.

More than 114,000 people in Delaware struggle with food insecurity.  Thank you to Country Village Apartment Homes and Bayshore Moving & Storage for working together to make a difference!
