CORT Collects 4,000+ LBS. of Food During Thanksgiving Food Drive

December 6, 2019

Our partners from CORT are one of our biggest supporters throughout the year. As the primary transportation partner for our rapidly-expanding Multi-Family Program, CORT is volunteering to pick up non-perishable food donations from apartment communities all across the country and delivering them to local food banks. But even though CORT has incorporated charitable giving into their day-to-day operations, they still felt they needed to do more as Thanksgiving and the holiday season approached. That’s why 9 CORT locations decided to hold food drives in November.

From Virginia Beach and Nashville, to New York and Los Angeles, CORT donated a combined 4,030 pounds of food! That’s enough to provide 3,500 meals to their neighbors in need! Though each branch donated at least 100 lbs. of food, CORT’s Washington D.C. office led the way by bringing in 1,013 lbs! Each CORT location delivered their respective donations to a local food bank or pantry.

There are more than 40 million people in the United States who face hunger, including 1 in 6 children. We want to give a big THANK YOU to our partners over at CORT and all of the individuals who volunteered their time and made a donation.
