More than 1.1 million people in Los Angeles County are food insecure, including 1 in 6 children. It's never easy to be hungry, but it can be especially tough during the holiday season. Luckily, we work with companies like Cali Movers who recognize the urgency of the problem and are inspired to take action.
From October 15-November, the Paramount, CA movers asked staff, customers, and members of the local community to donate stuffing, instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, and other Thanksgiving-themed items. Cali Movers joined our network in April, so this was the first time they had ever held a food drive. But you wouldn't know that based on the results! More than 130 lbs. of food was donated, which is enough to provide 100 meals! All of the donations were delivered to Food Finders, which serves dozens of missions, pantries, and shelters in Southern California.
