April 2018 Mover of the Month: Jobbers Moving & Storage

May 31, 2018

Each month, we highlight one of the moving companies in our network for their extraordinary commitment to fighting hunger in their community. We are excited to announce that Jobbers Moving & Storage is our Mover of the Month for April 2018!

In April, Jobbers Moving & Storage volunteered to help out with the Fighting Hunger One Backpack at a Time Food Drive. The event, which was organized by Lauryn Hinckley, a high school student from Bismarck, supports the Missouri Slope Areawide United Way’s backpack program. Dozens of local schools and businesses help collect jars of peanut butter & jelly to provide food insecure children in Bismarck & Mandan, ND with backpacks filled with food to take home on weekends. Now in its 8th year, One Backpack at a Time has grown into a huge event, and Lauryn realized that she was going to need some help.

For the past two years, Jobbers Moving & Storage has provided collection boxes and volunteered to pick up and deliver the donations to the United Way. More than 10,500 lbs. of peanut butter and jelly were donated this year, which is enough to provide 8,700 meals!

Jobbers Moving & Storage has delivered more than 18,400 lbs. of food since joining Move For Hunger in 2011. There are nearly 900 moving companies in our network, but Jobbers is one of just 93 to have delivered 18,000 lbs. of food all-time.

In addition to the award, Jobbers Moving & Storage will also be receiving a Move For Hunger hand truck, courtesy of Victory Packaging and Move For Hunger truck decals for their entire fleet.

Congratulations to Jobbers Moving & Storage on this much-deserved recognition. Thank you for commitment to reducing food waste and fighting hunger in the Peace Garden State!
