December 2017 Mover of the Month: Beltmann Relocation Group of St. Paul

January 10, 2018

Each month, we highlight one of the moving companies in our network for their extraordinary commitment to fighting hunger in their community. We are excited to announce that Beltmann Relocation Group of St. Paul, MN is our Mover of the Month for December 2017!

In November, White Castle approached us with an incredible opportunity to fight hunger during the holiday season. The nationally-recognized hamburger chain wanted to host food drives at 15 restaurants in the Twin Cities area. Organizing food drives at multiple locations can complicate things for our Events team, but Beltmann Relocation made it relatively easy for us when they agreed to donate boxes and pick up the donations from 8 of the participating White Castles.

"We couldn't turn down the chance to help our fellow Minnesotans in a time of need, especially during the holidays when people should be joining together to help the less fortunate," said Mike Peshut, Beltmann's Regional Vice President.

Despite the significant logistical obstacles involved -- the distance between each location, allocating resources without disrupting day-to-day operations, and the short notice -- Peshut's crew was able to drop off collection boxes at all 8 locations in a matter of days.

"Within 2 days, we deployed our sales force to help deliver the boxes to the participating White Castle stores," Peshut said.

Beltmann Relocation of St. Paul has always been a company that we can rely on when the need arises. There are more than 840 moving companies in our network, but Beltmann is 1 of just 24 that have delivered more than 50,000 lbs. of food.

"It’s not a box that we check to say that it's done and complete, it’s a culture that starts with the top leadership," Peshut said. "Our owners and senior managers lead by example, they provide the support for programs like Move For Hunger and allow our employees the time to get involved at the transaction level."

That kind of buy-in, from ownership to salespeople, didn't happen overnight. "It’s something that you can feel is building within our organization from year-to-year and even month to month," Peshut said. "Like anything else in business, if you focus on it, you will usually get positive results."

Since joining the Move For Hunger network during the summer of 2012, Beltmann Relocation Group has provided more than 42,000 meals to their neighbors in need. According to Peshut, the philanthropic spirit that Beltmann has fostered has helped to build camaraderie among the staff.

"A byproduct of this movement is teamwork and pride, you can feel the energy of everyone working together to help the less fortunate in the communities we serve. Our employees are proud to be involved, especially when they can see the results first hand."

Over the last 5+ years, Beltmann Relocation Group of St. Paul has established its reputation as one of the most valued members of our network. We are honored that they have agreed to serve on our brand new Mover Advisory Committee, and we look forward to working together more closely in the year ahead.

"It is our goal to continue to support Move For Hunger and work with your team to maximize our impact," Peshut said.  "One of our employees, Caryn Harder, has recently volunteered to run point within the advisory committee to help spearhead Beltmann's initiatives that support Move For Hunger. With Caryn’s leadership, we will make a difference with  Move For Hunger in 2018, and beyond."

In addition to the award, Beltmann Relocation Group will also be receiving a Move For Hunger hand truck, courtesy of Victory Packaging, lunch for their entire staff, compliments of Montway Auto Transport, and Move For Hunger truck decals for their entire fleet.

Congratulations to Beltmann Relocation Group of St. Paul on this much-deserved recognition. Thank you for commitment to reducing food waste and fighting hunger in the North Star State!
