Brandon Moving & Storage Helps Elementary Students Collect 1,500 LBS. of Food

March 22, 2018

It's going to be difficult for Brandon Moving & Storage to do more than they did in 2017, but we wouldn't bet against them. Last year, Don Henson and his team held or assisted with 14 food drives, delivered more than 26,000 lbs. of food, and were named our Bekins Van Lines Movers of the Year.

If Brandon Moving's goal is to top that in 2018, they just got off to an excellent start. From March 5-14, the North Little Rock, Arkansas-based movers organized a food drive at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School. Eleven classrooms took part in the event, and Brandon Moving & Storage made each class a promise: if you collect more than 75 items, we'll throw you an ice cream party. And that's not all, the class from each of the school's 2 buildings who collected the most food would receive a pizza party.

Needless to say, Brandon Moving & Storage is on the hook for a lot of ice cream! More than 1,500 lbs. of food was collected - which is enough to provide 1,250 meals! All of the donations were delivered the Hope Ministry Alliance.

This was just the first of 7 food drives that Brandon Moving & Storage has planned for this year (as of now). If they are all as successful as this one, they could be contenders for our Mover of the Year Award once again.

Nearly 550,000 people in Arkansas are food insecure, including 1 in 4 children. Thank you to Don, Kyle, and entire Brandon Moving & Storage crew and to the students and faculty of Immaculate Heart of Mary School for helping to provide so many meals to your neighbors in need.
