Avalon Hayes Valley, a multi-family apartment community in San Francisco, recently made their first donation since joining our network in August. As a member of our Multi-Family Program, Avalon Hayes Valley encourages residents to donate their food when they move. By providing renters with an opportunity to share what they can spare, Avalon Hayes Valley is creating a sustainable way to reduce food waste and fight hunger in the Bay Area.
CORT of San Francisco provides the other piece of the puzzle by volunteering to pick up and deliver all of the donations to the SF-Marin Food Bank.
More than 164,000 people, including 1 in 6 children, in the region are food insecure. Thank you to Avalon Hayes Valley and CORT for helping to provide meals to your neighbors in need!
